Overview

For every major sales event at Gilt, the design team developed a visual system to carry the event across all assets for the duration of the sale. For the Spring event, my role was to create a system that captured the essence of the season—light, colorful, fresh, and full of new beginnings—while seamlessly complementing the event photoshoot.

To begin the creative process, I developed a mood board to spark brainstorming and set the tone for the event’s visual direction. These temporary design systems were always crafted to exist just above the evergreen brand style guide—bringing distinction and freshness to each event without disrupting the brand’s long-term consistency once the campaign concluded.

For this Spring event, I introduced an accent font to serve as a visual differentiator and enhanced the type treatment to stand apart from the brand’s standard type lockups. We retained the core brand color palette, but to further elevate the look and feel, I created a custom pattern and gradient inspired by the photoshoot. These elements were layered across assets, bringing vibrancy and cohesion to the seasonal campaign while maintaining alignment with the overarching Gilt identity.

The system was designed with scalability at its core. Once completed, it functioned as both a visual guide and an asset library, ensuring consistency across all marketing assets (email, social media, content, and banner ads), allowing the event’s visual identity to scale seamlessly.
